A design that combines sculpture, cultural history and ‘a touch of humour’. Eileen Gray's Bibendum armchair from 1926 is one of the most distinctive works of modernism. For 100 years, its striking form has embodied the non-conformist spirit of its designer and her visionary approach to design. Inspired by a rare historical original from the 1920s, the anniversary edition reinterprets the Bibendum armchair with special materials and refined details: the high-quality nubuck leather in a warm sand tone emphasises the sculptural character of the luxuriously upholstered rolls, while the nickel-plated tubular steel frame lends the design a contemporary elegance. Each armchair has Eileen Gray's signature engraved on it, as well as an individual edition number from 1 to 100.
